Edwin Verplanke is a platform solutions architect and is part of Intel's Embedded and Communications Processor Division. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, respectively. For the past 12 years, Edwin has focused on communications board design, participating in various standards development efforts covering high-speed interconnects, and more recently, researching multi-core architectures for the embedded market. Outside of work, Edwin enjoys sailing, tennis, and spending time with his family.
Edwin grew up in Breskens, a small fishing village in southern Holland. There he developed his love for sailing—both leisure and competition. He is also a passionate rugby player. After completing his university studies, he moved to the United Kingdom and joined Intel. A relatively recent transplant to Chandler, Arizona, Edwin also develops big ideas while playing tennis and sailing on local lakes in his spare time.
